The R & R Conner Story

The forest has given us our livelihood and shaped our lives. The timber industry has been our business, in one form or another, for over 3 generations. As the industry has changed we have always adapted. This led to learning the art of helilogging and investing in this pinnacle of environment friendly harvesting methods. R&R Conner Aviation, LLC has gone beyond just being successful. Through the internationally syndicated show “Ax Men” we have probably become the best known helilogging company in the world. The sad news is that this form of logging is in decline and may become extinct. Once again we must adapt.

Firewood has always been a part of our business.  As the sale of merchantable timber on the national forests has declined, beetle kill and fire have increased the dead wood. From the time a tree dies there is a very short period of time where it remains a good saw log (a log that can be sawn into lumber). Because of a myriad of restraints the Forest Service cannot get the dead wood out in time. As a division of R&R Conner Aviation, LLC, Black Forest is marketing that dead wood by selling it as usable fuel and an energy source to our consumers. Not to mention this is yet another way to help our forests restore their health and beauty.
